Water Colors

Today we didn't get pictures at the library, but here are the water color paintings Jack and Malynn got to do! Their first water colors!

Melody said that today brought something new at the library. The kids recognized the other kids from the group and spent time playing with them after the story hour instead of sticking by Melody while she chose books. It's so wonderful that Malynn and Jack are realizing they are part of a group and making friends, too.

I also want to take this chance to give a special thank you to Melody. I really owe her special thank yous all the time, but this one is specifically about the books she chooses for the kids. Each week they come home with books that are relevant to their lives. This week the pile includes books about: sharing (a hot topic last week), airplanes (trip to Air & Space Museum), trains (a general topic of interest recently), numbers (we're very into counting -mostly just to 2 right now), and an I Spy book (Jack loves finding objects within pictures). So thank you. Thank you for listening to the stories of our lives, observing the kids likes and needs, and nurturing them with literature connections that help them learn and grow. Thank you.
