Our onions and radishes, planted at Easter, are thriving, and we just added tomatoes, peppers, and a cantaloupe and cucumber vine. The kids used their little gardening bags from Melody. They love having their own shovels, using their knee pads, and they got to put their little garden signs in with the plants.
Part of that gardening gift was their own little pot for growing herbs from seed.
They just got them planted the other day and it was very exciting to see them sprouting so soon!
Mommy's herbs are all taking off, too. I probably would have already had a couple batches of pesto made if it weren't for the Japanese beetles that showed up. Grrrrr. They're usually only around for a couple weeks, so I'll just have to wait them out.
Maybe our favorite though is picking our own fresh blueberries right off the bushes! (Thank you Tammy for a gift that keeps on giving and giving!) The kids know that we want the blue ones. Jack sticks to the blue ones, but Malynn picks and eats both blue and green ones!
The kids know Daddy loves blueberries and can't resist bringing him some when we're all outside together.
