Picnic lunches have been our big new thing this week! It started with a picnic style lunch at the boathouse on Saturday. On Monday we went to a playground at a park that was new for us and packed an official picnic lunch -picnic basket and all! Malynn and Jack were so great about it. They played and played, and when they were hungry, they went right over to our basket and we set up our blanket to enjoy our little lunch. It has been such a hit that Melody took the kids back to the park on Tuesday with a picnic lunch, and they stopped by the park for a picnic lunch on the way home from the library today! Today lots of friends from the library were there. It was Coralee's birthday and the kids gave her a little gift. Malynn took great pride in taking it over to her. And our bestest friend, Dylan, was there and had a picnic lunch with them.
The kids are having so much fun playing with friends from the library and making new friends at this new playground. Jack has been more inclined to hang back a bit, observe, and join in with the sliding, running, or swinging in his own time. Malynn, on the other hand, has been quite the social butterfly: sharing turns on the slides, wanting friends to climb with her, watching and trying the things the "big" (3 & 4 year old) kids do. She is also doing a remarkable job remembering the names of kids she meets and asks about them when they aren't at the playground!
