Leaf Pictures!

Last fall we noticed leaves, played in leaves, read about leaves, collected leaves, but we never did any of the art projects I had thought of with the leaves. This year I was determined to make it happen. When Grand, Ottar, & Amita were planning to come for an early Thanksgiving visit I planned everything out for our special leave art project. Before hand we noticed leaves, played in leaves and read about leaves. We also practiced gluing down odd shaped objects. (We had noodles, beans, puff balls, feathers, and the object of choice -buttons.)

Then when everyone was together, we went for a little walk around the house to collect the best looking leaves we could find. It was extra educational because Amita knows a lot about native trees and could tell us what all the leaves' names were and cool facts like how oak leaves are skinner from the top branches of the tree because it lets more light down to leaves on the lower branches!

Finally, we all came inside and made our beautiful leave art creations. YAY!

I always have fun "seeing" their wonderfully unique personalities in their work. :)
