Does any child escape falling in love with Curious George?
Not in this house!
George inspired a super quick, but super fun, activity this afternoon. In Curious George Rides a Bike, the author includes directions for making a boat out of newspaper, and we decided to give it a try!
"First he folded down the corners, like this,
then he folded both edges up, brought the ends together, and flattened it sideways.
Then he turned one corner up, then the other one, again brought the ends together, and flattened it sideways.
Then, gently, he pulled the ends open - and there was his BOAT!"
"Now the moment had come to launch the boat.
Would it float?
It did!"
Our boats even had frog and duck passengers like George's!
Awesome!
