It started with the making of these super cute Valentine's for our family and friends.
I cut out the hearts from over-sized, colored note cards and added the tissue paper in the middle. Malynn & Jack helped glue on the feather and added extra Valentine's Day color with paint. It was simple, but very fun, and actually looks quite pretty when sunlight comes through.
Next was the visit from Samma & Papa who made cookies with the kids (see previous post), which started the baking and eating extravaganza!
Of course we had to dress the part on the big day! Next was the visit from Samma & Papa who made cookies with the kids (see previous post), which started the baking and eating extravaganza!
We all got decked out in some of our favorite red. Most of you know I can't resist getting Jack into a collared shirt, and Samma brought us some new 3T clothes which included this red polo for Jack. He started in some very debonair khakis, but we don't typically make it through a full day without needing to change pants or shirt or both. :) Malynn proudly announced to Melody that she was also wearing a special red shirt from Samma today. And of course she looked extra glamorous in Mommy's pearls! She actually started out in a cute dress that was covered with hearts, but after a couple minutes got super upset about it and was much happier in pants. Often she really takes to the girlie-girl stuff, but not this time.
Melody had a surprise baking activity planned for the day, and the kids were able to help with so many parts of it!

There were graham crackers to crush up, which we are really pretty good at now. And Malynn and Jack both got turns to stir while the other added chocolate chips.

I love the focus on Malynn's face here, as well as the fact that she had her first baking in pearls experience!

We ended up with these yummy chocolate chip/graham cracker bake desserts, which Melody cut into sweet hearts for us. Thank you Jack, Malynn, & Melody for this Valentine's Day treat that was made with love!
The kids were so proud when Melody opened her Valentine from them, and Malynn was so cute when she eagerly pointed out the gluing and painting she did. And Melody found the perfect little Valentine's for the kids -puppy and kitty coloring books that came with their own little crayons and stickers. It kept them busy several times throughout the day. We are definitely in full on "we love stickers" mode around here!
Happy Valentine's Day to all!
