The Cousin's Big Bash: Turning 1 & 3

Teigen & Rourke's birthdays are within 3 days of each other, so Aunt Missy got a fantastic spot secured for a Big Double Birthday Bash! She found a tumble gym place that was only a few miles from their house, and it really was amazing! The staff kept things moving from start to finish and had a huge room full of happy toddlers the whole time!

Two of those happy toddlers were:

Rourke, turning the BIG 1 Year Old!
(We got used to calling him baby Rourke, but he's not so baby anymore.)

And Teigen, turning 3 years old!
He was fearlessly leading the pack all around the gym the whole time.

Two of the other happy toddlers were:

Jack & Malynn.
They had just woken up from a little snooze in the car when we arrived so it took them a couple minutes to warm up to everything. That tends to be how it goes -they both stand back at first and take it all in when they are in a new environment, and once they get the lay of the land they are eager to jump right in and play independently.

Which is exactly what happened. Malynn started out by some familiar faces: Papa & Rourke.

Jack was all about anything he could try to climb up!

We got some great new experiences like shaking a parachute!

We saw a lot of happy faces all afternoon!

Side note: My poor little girl is going to be plagued with name misspellings her whole life I'm sure, but it's worth it for such a unique, beautiful name befitting our unique, beautiful girl.

They really could not get enough of exploring all the great things there were to climb on, slide down, walk across, roll over, hang from, and on and on.

When they set up this horizontal ladder as part of a circuit, Malynn was determined to master it. She figured it out quickly and then just kept doing that part of the circuit over and over.

Of course she caught Jack's attention, and if one is doing something new the other one is never far behind.

At every turn there was something new to try. Like a climbing wall! So cool!

And a hanging bar -that wasn't quite high enough for hanging for Jack!
(My tall guy!)

Rourke stuck to the things that were just his size.

While Teigen was all about anything that was...

...challenging, fast, or high!

Here's another one of those "when one is doing something new..."

..."the other isn't far behind" moments!

Swings are always a favorite, particularly for Malynn.

There was even a zip line that both kids got to try! Wow!

Jack: politely sharing, but those eyes clearly say, "Sharing is not my first choice right now."

Malynn got to enjoy some good Papa time.

We finished things off with cupcakes, snacks, and juice. Of course I was pleased when, after one bite of cupcake, both kids chose to eat the apples, cheese, and juice instead.
I'm always so proud of you my healthy little ones!

Happy Birthday Teigen!
Happy Birthday Rourke!
Thanks for having us as part of your super fun celebration!
