Morning Message

I was trying to think of ways to expose Malynn and Jack to more writing experiences, and I decided to start doing a "morning message!" For all of you non-elementary teacher folks -that's when you write a little message on a white board each morning talking about the day. We don't get to it every morning, but Malynn and Jack love it and have started using the marker to help put marks on the board! When I ask, "Should we do a morning message?" Malynn always shakes her head "yes," and both of them look up at the white board (which sits on the mantel). They both insist on having a marker (you'll notice there are two on the ready in the picture below). Of course, I'm so proud of them developing their concepts of print already!
