Halloween Fun!

For Halloween we got together with our good friends Annie & Ben and Sophie over at Sophie's house for a photo shoot. Sophie's parents, Kurt & Christine, set up this great spot for us. The leaves and the woods in the background were perfect! Kurt is a professional with the camera and got these first couple amazing shots. The colors are so vibrant, and the individual expressions on everyone's faces captures them each perfectly.

Back to Carter Mountain

This weekend Mike had to be away at the Princeton Chase with the Men's Rowing Team, so his family came to visit and help me with the twins. I'm pretty sure we captured the PERFECT fall day with a trip back to Carter Mountain!

The Moby wraps worked perfectly once again.
Jack enjoyed looking at the trees and all the other people walking around, especially other children. Malynn enjoyed snuggling in with Aunt Janelle.

We enjoyed treats.

Outside Playtime

We have been having a BEAUTIFUL fall around these parts, and Malynn and Jack love being outside, so we had some outside playtime the other day. It was delightful for all of us!

The babies become mesmerized by the wind in the trees.

Malynn was busy deciding where all her toys should go.
Jack was ready to study his numbers -well, actually he was just looking for something to get in his mouth and rub on those new teeth.
One of my greatest joys is watching the twins interact with each other!

What's the Big Deal?

Malynn decided to check this rolling-over business off the list, too. I can't believe both babies rolled-over within two days of each other! Juxtaposed to the show Jack gave us, Malynn simply popped over without any warning. It was like she'd been practicing for days and just decided to finally show us she could do it. When I got all excited and praised her, she was happy and proud, but at the same time had a bit of a look as if to say, "What's the big deal?"

Here she is right after her first back to front roll over.

I tried to get a slide show of roll over #2 like I got for Jack, but this is as far as she wanted to go despite my efforts to get her to do it again.

Turns out she was much more interested in sitting in Grand's lap!

In the meantime, whereas Malynn is quite judicious about her use of the roll over, Jack has been busy rolling all over the room every chance he gets. He only rolls to his right side so far, and here is a shot of him once he had gotten as far as he could go.
I guess it's time to do a little more baby-proofing!

Two Bears in the Bed, and the Little One Said...

...Roll Over!

While Malynn has been working on sitting up, Jack has been dedicated to figuring out the roll over. He accomplished the front to back roll over weeks ago, but the more challenging back to front roll over has eluded him...until now!

This was right after the first roll over.
Jack says, "Whoa, did you see what I did?"
"Yes, I saw you! That was AWESOME! I'm so proud of you!" replies Mommy.

"Ha, I'm pretty fancy huh!?!"
"It was really fun!"
"I'm such a clever guy!"
"Hmmm, I think I'll do it again."
"Here's how you start -throw the legs over."
"Now reeeeach."
"I need a minute to remember what to do about this other arm that's in the way."

"Oh yeah, get the legs all the way over."
"It helps to have a toy incentive to stretch for."
"Here's the hard part -tighten up the core to get over that arm."
"Voila! Did you catch that Mom?"
Mom says, "I sure did, my son. You are fantastic!"
